We purchased a moped in September from GS Motorworks' on-line site, which promised immediate and ongoing customer service and technical support. We assembled the bike on arrival and it would not run. They ignored multiple phone calls and e-mails over the next three days. After four days, we contacted our credit card company to dispute the charge.
Twenty days later, when GS Motorworks heard from my credit card company, they phoned me and were suddenly eager to help.By that time we had paid our mechanic to disassemble the bike and repack it for shipping. They refused to pay the cost of return shipping. We do not feel it is our obligation to pay to return a defective product that they refused help with until threatened with non-payment. Our credit card company is not supporting us.
Now we either keep the crappy bike and lose $1,000 (including the cost of assembly and disassembly), or return it to them and trust those crooks to return our money. We do not trust them. Because of their history of non-responsiveness, we believe that we will never hear from them again and will have lost all that money.
I have since found multiple complaints on-line against this company, including an "F" rating from their local Better Business Bureau.
Can you help us?
