Purchased LG electric range, was an open box item, and had minor external damage which I saw and asked for a discount, and they did. Got it delivered on the following day as scheduled but did not get it hooked up because we needed to trim off the countertop and cabinet to fit the new range. When my husband lifted the range to fit, he found the range in much more damage than we had seen or expected. The whole frame underneath was caved in and was bent. Even the racks in the oven were bent. We would not have bought it had we known how much it was damaged, but just seeing the outside did not suspect real damage. (Lesson we learned this time to really examine the product inside and out, underneath and back, etc..) Called the manager of the local store (Roanoke, VA, Valley View Mall), explained the situation, but the final answer was that we had incurred the damage after the delivery, so they cannot even take the return on it. The only thing we did was lift up one side and looked underneath! It is still within 14 day period, and they are backing out of it. After talking with the manager on the phone, I also found that one of the elements did not heat up, which is not surprising seeing the damage done to it. First of all they sell a badly damaged item as an open box item, not letting the customer know what the condition is, then blame on the customer for the damage done, will not take the return within their 14 day period. This is not a business to be in America, they should be more likely in a third world countries. Very disappointed. Was my first purchase, and will most likely be the last.
