Ralph Covell owns over $11 million dollars in real estate, about 60 head of Clydesdale horses has invested $950,000 in Westridge Financial Services, a collection agency in Nevada has had an income in excess of $36,000 per MONTH and refuses to pay the back child support of about $60,000.in fact, he even refuses to pay the full monthly amount of child support.
Mr. Covell lied about his income and net worth in a resent modification hearing. His recorded expenses on his hobby of raising Clydesdale horses is about $20,000 per month. He resently attended the National Clydesdale sale in Springfield Ill. And spent over $20,000 on more horses.
When Ralph filed bankruptcy he didn't list the back child support and the child support wasn't paid. Although he did pay his current wife money he claimed to owe her.
When Ralph sold his property for over $7 million dollars, his attorney managed to get the District Attorney's office to lift the Lein against him and he closed escrow without paying the back child support.
When the California Nature Conservancy purchased a $4 million dollar easement on Ralph's $5.5 million dollar ranch in Cambria, CA Ralph was able to run it through a Canadian Corporation and again skip out on the child support.
Right now Ralph has property in Azusa, CA for sale for over $2 million Dollars but has it hidden in a Nevada Corporation, so once again, he will be able to skip out on his support.
Each time he has sold real estate the child support services has been contacted before hand. Each time Child Support Services has done nothing to collect the money owed. It is like they are protecting him. If he was poor his butt would be in Jail, but he isn't. If he were famous his butt would be in jail, so the Child Support Services would be in the news. But he isn't so they let it go.
We have two wonderful daughter together, one is about to graduate from high school. Ralph won't even help with collage unless it is to his benifit and she goes to work for him. (She already has a great job, and doesn't want to let the people down) So she has decided to go to a community collage, so I can afford it without going into further debt. The kids have not seen him, by their choice in over two years, after he called the police on them and tried to force them to see him after he promised them they could exchange weekends so they could attend school functions.
Nothing is ever unconditional, everything is about money to him and he doesn't want to help with that end of it. I am over 30% disabled and work full time. I have provided for the girls the best I can, but it sure would be nice to be able to do more for them. What a shame the Child support Services won't do anything to him. Because he is independently wealthy and self employed, they won't touch him because it is to much work.
When I filed for the modification in Support Ralph would not supply income information, although now I know his income was over $36,000 per month. The handbook claims that the child support Services will use my estimate of his income if he doesn't supply income information. THey didn't. I have over $80,000 in attorney fees trying to get a simple modification.
It's not that Ralph Covell Can't afford to pay, it is that he feels he is hurting me.in fact he is hurting the kids. They know he has the money to pay. My oldest watched him spend over $20,000 on one horse at a sale a couple of years ago, and just watched him spend over $20,000 at the National Clydesdale sale.
If Child support Services would throw his butt in jail for one day, the full amount would be paid. What a looser he is. He sure has missed out on two wonderful kids.
