IE approached us with a deal on hotel rooms for a convention in Los Angeles. We paid them in advance for a block of hotel rooms totalling nearly 4000 dollars. The day before we arrived, we contacted the hotel to confirm the rooms and were informed that only one room had been booked, and that this room was not paid in advance. We contacted IE by phone and by email, and were consistently put on hold for 20 or 30 minutes at a time, and were then sent an email stating that the company was facing bankruptcy. Apparently this is their standard method of dealing with this, as we've now learned that many others have received the same treatment.
The last I heard from them, they agreed to refund the charges to our card in full. Of course, this has not happened.
