Clicked on an on-line advertisement for a weight loss product sample for $4.95. I just noticed today on my credit card bill that there was an unauthorized charge for $89.95 from 1-866-227-1830 BUYPUREBIOTIX. I called my credit card company and informed them that I never authorized that charge.
I was originally sent an email notice from my credit card company asking about the $4.95 charge because they said the charge came from Europe. I told them that the $4.95 charge was an approved charge. I did not approve any additional charges. However, when I called the number above, the service rep, Zack, stated that there was something mentioned on the right hand side on one of the web pages that said that if I didn't cancel within 15 days, an automatic monthly withdrawel would occur. I stated that I did not see any such statement and that I am not that stupid. He said there was nothing he would do since I clicked on the submit button when I purchased the sample for $4.95, that was my acceptance of the condition that I cancel within 15 days or I'd be charged a monthly charge of $89.95. There is no way I would have missed such a statement. It must have either been hidden or so far over to the right in the web page or of such small font size that I could not read it. This is absolute fraud.
