I purchased a bed, mattress, dresser and nite stand from furniture n more in March that is when it was delivered.in August my daughter said she was getting bit up but we did not realize it was from her bed. On August 27th we went out of town and we had someone stay at the house and she slept in my daughters room and so she texted her the next morning and she said she had 24 bites on her arms. Our first thought was right so the next night she slept on our couch and so no bites that night. Sunday we came home and I went to my daughters bedroom started taking her bed apart found blood on the sheets and so I lifted up the sheets and she had a mattress pad on the top of it they were all at the top of them some tiny others very noticeable. I took it off and just threw it away because it was disgusting.
So on August 29th I called Alpha Ecological and told them my problem and they came out that day - it was a free estimate. The guy went into our daughters bedroom and took her sheets off and lifted up the mattress and he said see all the spots on the boards they are all from bed bugs. They were in between the boards and frame and that her room needed to be treated. He did look at all the other rooms of the house and did not find anything. The next thing we had to do was to clear everything out of her - clothes had to be washed and dryer put into plastic bags - in her dresser all the clothes needed to be put in plastic bags then washed and dryer and put them in a new plastic bag and then put them outside tied up. Also all pictures off walls and everything off the shelfs making sure no bed bugs were on them. Curtains taken down and washed - also she had artificial flowers and there were bed bugs in them so I just had to throw them away.
On Sept 7th Alpha Ecological came out to treat our daughters room and he was here for 3 hours and he took her bed all apart and found a lot of them on the frame and she has like a plank of boards and each one them had them on it. One of the post that holds the bed in the middle had all kinds of eggs. So when he was all done he said he was filling out the paper work and I told him that it was all new furniture he was saying that the furniture store could be the possible source and he said to contact them and see if they will do anything. This has cost me $700.00 on this one but then they have to come back and check the room again - cannot go into her room until then. Came back on Sept 21st to check it and make sure that all the bed bugs were taken care of. That was another $300.00. Then they said it would be a good idea to purchase a bed bug cover and so we purchased one for her bed and one for our bed. That was another $287.00. This does not include everything that I threw away and all the frustration of moving our daughter out of her room for almost 4 weeks.
So I called furniture n more and wanted to talked to a district manager or call corporate office and Jaden said he was it. I told him my story because I did not have these bed bugs from her old furniture it wasn't until I got the new one. He asked me if I had my purchase order # and I did and he said he would call me back the next day. He never did call me back so I called him 5 days later and said I called before and he said that he didn't know what to do so I said ignoring my problem was not going to work. He just kept saying he has never heard that the bed bugs came from them but I told him they could have come from there warehouse or from their truck. He said he would called me back after he called the manufacturer and he did but now they want proof and the only proof I have is what Alpha ecological wrote on the paper. I am asking for them to help pay for the treatment. I think that people need to realize that bed bugs is a reality and that they are not easy to deal with. They guy who treated said that one lady bought a couch and after a few months she was getting bit up and they came out and it was full of bed bugs she called where she got the couch and they paid for the treatment that had to be done. So he said this was worth a shot because right now I would never buy apiece of furniture from furniture n more and I will tell everyone not too. I think Jaden thinks I am going to let this go but he has no idea what we have been through as a family. They are now in theaters and they are starting to treat the threshers to make sure they have no problems.
I know I should have taken pictures but they are hard to see and especially when it is just eggs so I am not sure if anything could be done but I thought I would at least try and I watch channel 12 all the time and saw the stories that you have helped out a lot of people.
