In theory, PODS seemed like a good idea. You can take your time moving your stuff in and out of the POD instead of having of rushing to get the moving done in one day, and you don't have to drive a big truck that you aren't used to driving. The ceiling of the POD allowed for light to come through, so that made moving things in a little better. Also, the low ground clearance of the POD is nice, so that's why I'm giving them a 'Try Harder', though I wouldn't use their services again.
What I did not find out ahead of time was that in certain not so populated areas of the country the POD does not get pickedup/delivered on certain days. The only days given for my drop-off were Tuesday and Thursday, which could cause problems if you are moving on a weekend and if you have a limited amount of time to keep your POD at your destination.
The POD is not a good option if you are moving to an apartment complex with limited parking. I have 2 parking spots, but PODS requires at least 3 parking spaces for delivery/pickup. Also something I was not made aware of beforehand.
PODS will charge (they say prorate) you for the next month, even if your scheduled pickup date is within the month.
Multiple times I asked PODS when I should expect my POD charges to go through. They told me the day I would be charged, but neglected to mention that the charge would actually go through 5 business days beforehand through their 'idyl pay' system. Something that they say is out of their hands to correct. So, when they tell you you'll be charged on let's say the 31st they really mean 5 business days before the 31st.
In the future, I'm using u-haul all the way.
