I wish I had seen this site last week. Last Friday, I received a call from NHCD recruiting. The girl I spoke with told me there was a $74.00 "security deposit" and I would get it back in five weeks as long as I showed a reasonable effort. Later, I found out it was 500 leads to get a refund.
She went on to tell me how I would be calling people to "introduce them to the company". She said no sales!!! I have worked for one day and if this isn't sales I don't know what is. I was given a script to read and had to gather information from the potential customer. One question was about how they pay for their medicine, by checking account or credit card, personally I feel that is private information and is really no ones business but their own. I don't think I can continue to do this job.
I feel ashamed calling these senior citizens, who haven't asked me to call them with this information and then ask them intrusive questions. It's also a job that requires lots of self esteem because people will talk ugly to you or hang up on you, no matter how nice you are trying to be, but I don't blame them. If I were in their shoes I would do the same thing if someone from NHCD called me.
