I received the letter stating I was drawn in a Lotto 4/11, I called Deen Mash, he sent me a check for $4995.00, and requested I not use it but to call for instructions on how to send by western union $1995.99 to the Tax Agent assigned to me. And please do not use the check, I deposited the check but have not or will not touch the money until the bank tells me the check has cleared or has been returned.
It sure looks to be a scam since there are a lot of folks who also won 2nd place and were notified with the same lucky winning lotto numbers. I don't believe the $1995 would be enough to cover taxes on $250,000.00 for the government anyway. I wish there was a way to legally return the scammers the same favor and send them a bogus check back, Western Union should set this guy up for fraudulent use of their system.
