Complaint / Review
Supposedly Microsoft
Possible Fraud

I received a call from someone saying that they were "Microsoft". They said that my computer was being corrupted and I should go on my computer and they would help me fix it. I was on the phone about 20 minutes trying to explain that I understood who was calling me but I could not understand their accent so I would need to talk to someone else. He just kept telling me that my computer was corrupted and I should go on my computer to help them to help me. I finally hung up on them because I could not communicate with them.

A couple of minutes later, they called back (same phone #). I went through the same thing again. He transferred me to another man who's accent was as bad as the first one. He finally transferred me to a "Grand" something or other. I screamed at him so loud that he finally hung up. I am loathe to be rude by hanging up but had no choice. I don't like to yell at anyone either but also had no choice. I called my son (a registered MAC technician). He told me that it was a fraud call and not from Microsoft. He gets complaints like this all the time. He said that it is possible that if I had gone on my commputer with them, they would have caused problems. He also said that these people get my phone # and pass it on to other people and long distance charges are made to my phone. Could you please look into this? It happened about a year ago but I did nothing and did not hear from them again until today. I know that it was not Microsoft.

The number registered on my phone... 1-253-802-0308. I checked for the area code but could not find 253. This problem is not good for you or me. Please pay it some attention! Thank you, JB
