I filled out a mortgage help information sheet online. The site stated it was affiliated with the government HAMP program. A moment later I received a phone call from someone named Oliver, from The Mortgage Relief Center/Mortgage Law Group. I phoned back and they told me my mortgage company had been not giving me the correct percentage which was on our mortgage sheets. They stated their fees and said I could surely get our mortgage down about $500 per month. I was told to sign documents, even though the home is only in my husband's name, and that they would take care of everything else. They said someone would call me by the end of the day with what documents to send them... No one has called... 5 days later... I spoke with several persons and none have sent me info on the supposed paperwork I need to send them regarding a loan modification. Then I phoned them and their phone was not in service. They said their offices were in Chicago, IL... So then why can't I have an appointment in their office? I rec'd a copy of the papers I signed... My husband's initials and name were on them! I cannot sign for him! I was only getting information and now they have our bank info and his social security number!
