I asked a legal question regarding my husband who is in the Bibb County prison in AL. They said if I was not happy with the answer I wouldn't be charged. They asked for my credit card first. Well the answer the lawyer gave me was to contact the Barr Association for referrals for lawyers. Like I couldn't have thought of that on my own! And he had the nerve to ask for a tip for his advice! I was asked to explain why I declined and I did. Well I was charged anyway and I was away so I didn't really notice until I was charged again the next month! I asked my bank for the number and I call and threw a big fit when they tried to tell me I couldn't get my money back.
The worst part of my story is this: I mentioned no names in my letter and I said my husband "told" me what happened. I never claimed to have witnessed the event. I guess they were so angry that I dare ask for my money back they retaliated against me. They altered the letter and added the warden's name and signed the letter with my name and they city I live in which I would NEVER do. I value my privacy more than anything. They got my name and city from my card information. They obviously looked up the warden's name. They not only printed the altered letter with my name on it on their main web page as though I was a success story. They also posted it so that if you look up Warden Ralph Burnell's name my letter pops up with my name and city, leaving me wide open for anyone to find me. My name is in the phone book and it is an unusual last name.
The best (worst) thing about this is that the warden found out. Someone told him I posted it and with my picture. Now he is threatening to arrest me for slander (which he can't do) but he is denying me visitation with my husband, he is probably on lock-down although he did nothing wrong and they stopped all correspondence between us (even between my kids and their father). I tried contacting them to tell them to take my letter off immediately and this lawyer has the nerve to try to charge me for an answer to her question. This has caused all kinds of problems and extreme stress for me. If you notice no one else's name is printed (it is X-ed out) or address. MY card information even popped up with all but the last 4 digits X-ed out. They have all the info needed to shut down my card. I feel I have a strong law suit.
Especially when I rejected their advice. They did this out of retaliation. You can look it all up and see what I'm saying is true.
