I posted a painting on Craigslist for Sale. I will include as much information I have as copy and paste of emails from Marvin Pittman. On 8/1 He had a check delivered to an address in Northern Minnesota. I had just moved to another home on 1 August and the envelope was left in the door of my vacated house. My sister collected the check and deposited it in my checking account in my local bank. The check appeared to clear and I used a good portion of the amount to close out accounts that were due from my moving expense. When I told Marvin the check cleared he became anxious for me to send him a balance minus the cost of the painting and an amount to cover my troubles. I also noticed that his last 2 emails came to me as junk mail. That had not happened in the first emails I received from him. I have definitely been scammed out of nearly $1300.00 and I live on a fixed income and don't know how I will recover from this. I contacted my bank this morning and told them I had been scammed and that I will do my best to cover the negative balance created by this with my next 2 pension checks. Here are the contents of emails. I only included what I kept copies of:
1) email dated 8/5 from Marvin Pittman
It has been some day that you have received the check and you are yet to confirm its clearance cos you told me that this will be take care on Tuesday since then i didn't hear back from you. Now i would want you to confirm its clearance this morning so that my shipper can be able to schedule the pick of the item today or first thing tomorrow morning at your home or let me know the best time for the shipper to come for the pick up.

2) email also received on 8/5 with Fed Ex tracking info.
The check has been delivered to the address you gave me. This is fedex process you can track it with www.fedex.com. Kindly get back to me for the details.

Thanks for getting back to me, Like i said i have my shipper that will be responsible for the pick up with other items around your location at a go... I will want you to get the rest funds wired to my shipper information via western union also deduct transfer charges from the rest funds to my shipper and don't hesitate not to go through my instruction ok.

5) email I received on 8/10 from Marvin Pittman and this is where they started coming into my junk mail.
Am waiting for the transfer details. You don't need to send the painting through fedex or ups, i want you to pack it somewhere and the send location to me. Moreso, i want you to send your # here for quick contact.
6) email received also on 8/10 and also came into junk mail. The information inserted here is his message to me with his contact information and also it shows his email address. I copied the entire message as well as my reply to him. The reply to Marvin Pittman from me was because I had contacted my bank and found that the deposit originally made on 8/8 had been returned.
I am forwarding this information to the law. You scammed me and I'll do whatever I can to get you caught. Mab

I've been advised to give the deposit 14 days to be sure it clears from the agency that the check is written on. I will only ship the painting myself and as far as sending you money in the form of a money gram, that won't happen until I am sure this isn't a scam and the deposit isn't any good. So you can wait and that's about all I can tell you right now.
