While working outside last fall my dog was in the yard with me when she decided to take a hike a couple of doors down and had a spat with my neighbors dog. This encounter resulted in my neighbor taking her dog to the vet resulting in a civil suit.in that my home owners policy took care of such suits I contacted Erie. I had three face to face meetings with erie rep. S who never mentioned it is their policy to make you dispose of your dog upon they becoming involved in a civil action. I got a letter saying pack up the dog and give it a one way ticket. I installed a $800 underground fence. I offered to exempt them from future libility. I asked why the policy did't state or they tell me about the dog bite policy. No responce. Been with Erie 42years given them over $53K in payments. I know they need to reduce risk but I think they are going a little overboard. I have a co-worker who has been in two at fault accidents in two years and all they did was send him a letter saying "Be Careful now". I got a dog that in 12 years who has never displayed one ounce of meanness does a Tyson & Foreman fight and is told by Erie to hit the road.
