I had an ad on Craigslist and he replied to it saying that he had to move to England on business. He was putting his house up for rent. He told me to send the first month's rent and he would send me the keys. After I sent him the $400 via Western Union, he asked for as security deposit of $600. I never sent the other money because that is when the "red flags" went up. I signed a lease agreement, but there was nothing in it about a security deposit. I also called the city where the house is that he said was his that he was renting and, of course, it was in someone else's name. He even called my on my phone. There are many e-mails that I have printed that show our communication in detail if that will help. Since then, I have put another ad on Craigslist to rent a room. I have gotten 2 e-mails that are similar format. Renting apartments in the states and the people are overseas. Thank you for any help you can give me. Tracey Roth.
