An 18 year old young man came to my door indicating that he was selling books to earn money so that his soccer team could travel to the national championships in Florida. He said that his team was local to my city (Los Altos, California). I purchased a book from him and paid for it with a check. I asked for his address. Almost 3 months went by and the book never arrived. So I went to the address that he gave me. It was only a few blocks away. I discovered that it was non-existent. My check was deposited in a Georgia bank which now seems strange to me since he claimed that he was on a local soccer team.
