In the early morning of May 6 between 6 and 7am, I coasted my car off of 610 at TC Jester in Houston, Precinct 1. Therefore, as my car ran out of gasoline and finally resting in front of a parking lot with blinker on. They still towed it
In addition, I walked to the nearest gas station visible from where the car rested to fill my container with gasoline. So, I may continue on to work, but as I walked back toward my car, there was no car to be found. I panic and couldnt believe my eyes that my car was gone in just minutes, with the blinker still blinking.
I had to call a taxi which cost me $50.00. Not to mention, it took me a few hours to find the location of my vehicle. Nevertheless, I paid Miller Auto and Body Repair (Corporate Auto Service, Inc.) $203.39 to retrieve my car. I lost a day at work plusI guess the $3.39 was for the gasoline.
This is greed at its best, and the City of Houston is allowing companies like this to operate and rip-off citizen. There should be a law! I felt I was watched while I walked away from my vehicle and the towed truck driver moved in like an animal preying on another. I thought the tow driver should have assisted me instead of towing my car to make a buck. This was a true rip-off.
Finally, as I went to retrieve my vehicle, there were stacks of paperwork on the desk and the phone buzzing off the wall. This is a sure indication that not only I was victimized.
