I ride the NY to Princeton every week day and I would say that your conductors consistently ignore telling riders that they are in a quiet car. The worst offender was the conductor on the 6:47pm out of Penn NYC who walked by a group of riders in the first car who were talking the whole time.
Please put up a sign in the cars. I have seen riders argue at each other when told they are in a quiet car. Why should paying riders have to police the rule when it's the conductor job. Njt gets a grade of D for enforcing the rule, as well as clearly designating the cars as quiet. Too bad because it's a good idea poorly executed.
