I purchased a new car threw Maple Ridge Dodge in april. It first started when I first tried out the car. I told them I would only purchase the car if they fixed the breaks. The first time i took it into the shop for the breaks they grinded them down so there wasnt noise but after 1 day the loud squealing was back. I took it back and told them that my deal was they needed to replace all the breaks, they changed the break pads and nothing else.
1 day later the squealing started again. I took it back and this time they did replace both front and back breaks and roaters. But when i went to pick up the car they told me I had to pay 500$! I put up a fuss and went to the man I had been talking to and they finally let me take my car home. Shortly after I noticed that my back end of the car was making noise, when i turned a sharp corner that something started grinind and rubbing. I called them and they told me that if i wanted it looked at I will have to pay the 150$ diagnostic fee (its a new car)? So I told them that I would take it else were due to the fact it took them 3 attempts on my breaks.
Now after 1 year of owning the car my car has problems starting and today ive had to be jump started 3 times? When i called them it was the same answer you have to bring it in and pay the diagnostic fee. I am willing to pay a fee no problem. But my whole issue is that after 1 year the car has so many problems! Is there not a standered for checking a car before selling. I am at 57,000 kms now and dont have the time or money to fix all the problems. The reason I bought this car was that my other cars struts went (2001 taurus) and i told the dealership I wanted a safe reliable family car. I now have an unsafe unreliable car and its only a year and a bit old.
Also when i was signing all the papers and it was decided i needed a co signer they told both my parents and I that i could use them for a year and then have them removed. Not knowing much about that my parents agreed and a week ago found out from the bank that it is not possible to remove a co-signer until the car is paid off... Why the lie? And now my parents are stuck with it!
What is done is done and I know better than to go back there, i should have just said no to the car after the first 2 break problems! I just want people to be aware of the lies and junk cars they are trying to give to people. Similar things have happened with the truck my brother bought threw them.
