Inconsiderate & Rude Costumer Service

I went to target this evening (April 14) with my 4yr. Old daughter to buy diapers for my baby and a couple of other things; my purchase was completed at 11pm (as it reads on the receipt) we were headed towards the exit doors on the 2nd floor and I asked the two security guards that were by the door, how to get to the 1st floor where my car was parked, one of the guards (Rudy) told me to go back in the store and take to elevator to the 1st floor, I said i didn't know it was still operating since they close at 11pm, but he assured me it was. So me & my daughter headed back in the store, took the elevator down and found all doors on the 1st floor locked. I saw a target employee and asked him if he could open the door so we could get out, he told me the doors were already locked with the alarm and that i would need to go to the 2nd floor as it was the only open exit. I let him know i was just there and was told by the guard (Rudy) to come to the 1st floor as it was still open, he then got on the radio and asked the store manager (several times) to open the doors on the 1st floor for a customer, he explained to her that one on the guards had directed me down but she refused. Another employee radioed her and asked again explaining the situation, but she refused.

At this point after waiting on the 1st floor for 10mins. To exit target, the employees told me that per the Manager, the only option to exit target was to go to the 2nd floor. I was very frustrated, but headed back up to the 2nd floor, when i arrived to the exit doors the store manager and guard (Rudy) were standing by and the guard had a big smile on his face, i asked them how would i get to my car from there which was on the 1st floor, guard (Rudy) explained i could either take the stairs outside to the garage on the 1st floor OR go across the parking lot (this target is located in side the mall, so the parking structure is big) and go down the ramp. Either option seemed so ridiculous and inconsiderate, when they could clearly see that i had 2 extra large boxes of diapers, and 3 heavy bags in the target cart & and my 4yr. Old. Of course they never even offered to help, but i refused, as i was not going to hurt myself going down the stairs with a cart full of stuff, or go down the ramp with the cart and my daughter and risk getting hit by a car! After refusing, the store manger insulted me by saying "The store closed more than ten minutes ago, did you forget where your car was?" I said "Didn't they tell you that he (Rudy) told me the exit on the first floor was still open when i asked him how to get to my car on the 1st floor?" I was then escorted to the 1st floor where the exit doors were spread open, and i was finally able to get to my car after that unnecessary inconvenience.

What an unpleasant experience, if the manager wouldn't have been so stubborn, and gave permission to open the doors in the first place when they explained the situation several times, then they would have saved me and themselves all that trouble. If they opened the door anyway why couldn't they do it before? People like these give target a bad reputation, they need to learn that, companies are nobody without the customer. Most people would rather pay the extra dollar elsewhere and get good service, than pay less and get horrible service, because a dollar is not worth the trouble.
