I have made many a move in my lifetime, but this most recent one was about the easiest I've done. Certainly, one thing that made it simple was the short distance between old and new residences. However, the other most important factor was the ease of moving with PODS.
I placed my order. The POD arrived when they said it would—with a phone call just before they got on site. I filled it up over time, called them when I was ready to go, and they moved it to my new address when they said they would, again with a phone call before they arrived.
The price was extremely reasonable. The people whom I met were very cordial and considerate.
One thing that women, especially, need to know is to have help on hand to load and unload. I had one man who packed the POD and unpacked it by himself, with me walking behind doing little if anything. My stuff was old and heavy and I really don't know how he did all he did.
The other thing is to keep the POD as long as you can without incurring a fee.in my case I had thirty days. Unfortunately I had it removed right after it had been unpacked. If I had thought it through I would have stored boxes and furniture in it so that my house wouldn't get filled with stuff I couldn't put away immediately. I got all the paperwork I was supposed to, with costs clearly labeled. Also, the final bill and the phone quotes were exactly the same.
These are good people to work with. I don't plan to move again, but if I were to, PODS would be my first call.
