PODS absolutely destroyed our furniture. We moved from Tampa, FL, to Grand Rapids, MI and in doing so used PODS to move our belongings. We had professional movers pack our POD and secure our belongings tightly with rope. All was fine until we received our furniture. Our POD was delivered and we were excited to open it up. Unfortunately we received damaged furniture back. My husband's brand new desk and leather chair was destroyed, and our new couch was bent (among other things). PODS wouldn't take any responsibility for it at all. They kept telling us they would get back to us and never did until we made phone call after phone call. After two months of them finally getting annoyed with us, all they had to say was they checked the POD it was delivered in and it was fine, so they're off the hook. We explained we had insurance on our furniture, but they just kept saying the POD wasn't damaged so it wasn't their responsibility.in other words, they can shake, rattle and basically do whatever they want to that POD so long as they don't damage their POD. They simply do not care about the contents WITHIN the POD, they only care about their property NOT mine or yours. What a joke! Guaranteed if we would have driven it ourselves with a UHAUL, we would have undamaged furniture. They were completely careless with the way they handled our furniture and could care less about their customer service. The few good reviews they have are because those are the few people that simply got lucky, because if they had one complaint, believe me, PODS DOESN'T CARE!!! Please, please, please, don't make the same mistake as we did just use UHAUL or some other service.
