Global Career Management
Ripoff, misrepresentation of services, deliberate misleading, lied about abilities to find positions, unprofessional methods, fraud

The salesperson at Global Career Management, Mr. Vince Leggio, assured me and my wife that Global would not just be directing me to send out letters to companies randomly but that their research department had exclusive information to the "unadvertised" job market and that I would be put in contact with high level contacts at these companies. We asked several times to be assured that I would not just be sending out resumes to companies who had no interest in hiring now. He assured us several times that this was not the case, they knew where the jobs were and that is where I would be directed towards.

Not only is that not the case but the company asked me to select 15 to 20 companies every week where I would like to send to my resume and cover letter to. I would then follow up with phone calls and try and arrange a meeting with them. These companies may or may not be looking for someone with my background.

The company (Global Career Mgmt.) does not know of open positions or deal with them at all. They made that very clear once I was on board and my fee had been paid. The only week that I tried their service I was given the name of the absolute wrong contact on three out of the 10 they sent me (They only sent me 10 contacts even though I gave them a list of 21 companies).

For example, in one case, I was applying at the local Hewlett-Packard plant in Ranch Bernardo, CA (suburb of San Diego). The contact they gave me was the Executive Vice President of Global Marketing at company HQ in Palo Alto, CA. I know for a fact that there are plenty of Executives with hiring authority at this plant and that the individual they gave me would have no interest in seeing me or speaking to me. I am far too down the ladder for him to care about. Global appears to be applying no intelligence whatsoever to the contacts but simply looking for an Executive's whose name they have in their database!

If I had known the truth about their service I would not have signed up and paid the fee. They completely misrepresented the service provided deliberately to get my business. They were unwilling to give me my money back and only offered to refund slightly more than half. My contention is that ALL of the fee was obtained under fraudulent circumstances and therefore I am entitled to a total refund.
