Global Career Management is an unethical business practice with its headquarters located in Denver, CO. This business has offices in Westminster, Colorado Springs, the Denver Tech Center, Fort Collins and also an office in Seattle, WA.
The services they offer are supposed to be career management and counseling and really what it is is an expensie resume writing service. The clients pay a large fee to meet with a Primary Consultant for a total of 8 times (even if you sign up for a three year program) during which they are "taught" the fundamentals of interviewing and letter writing. The services are to include your own customer client care representative, but in truth these individuals are so bogged down that they may not be able to help you for weeks.
The service also consists of access to a database, True Advantage, in which all of the information on companies is out dated and it does not include the proper individuals within these companies to be contacted about open position (you would not contact the CEO of a major firm to find out what positions their company has available). After you have access to this database, it is then your responsibility to contact the companies you find and send in all of your information to them, the clients services does not do this.
The Initial Consultants are just used car salesmen and women dressed up in fancy clothing, after the original sale, most of these individuals do not even care what happens during their clients programs. These individuals will say what you want to hear so that you think you have really found something big, this is not the case. These individuals also seem to pray on individuals that do not have a lot of money to be spending on things like this. The company will put you on a payment plan for a year that has a 16% interest rate on it which in some cases adds more than a thousand dollars onto the original price quoted to you.
The company itself is run on unethical behavior from the CEO down. This firm is a member of the Denver Better Business Bureau but it definitely should not be, paying a fee and having the CEO go to some board meetings does nt make this a good business. The treatment of employees is also unethical. This company cannot even provide proper health insurance to all employees because it costs the business too much, or their funding is just on the outs.
All in all, this company is not the firm you want to choose when making the decision to get career consulting. Most of the individuals known as Initial Consutnats are not even registered with the IACCF, which means they are not licensed or accredited career consultants.
