A letter was sent stating we had won a "compensation draw" for $125,000 from Publisher's Clearing House. Enclosed was an authentic looking check for $3,988.00 to cover "Govt. Service Tax and Insurance" drawn on Wells Fargo Bank. It stated the amount to pay $2988.10 through Western Union or Moneygram.
The check itself told you certain things to look for, like heat sensitive, pink U.S. Patent numbers under the signature, watermarks and colored borders, all of which were there.
When trying to contact "file agent" the response said that there was no room left on the message center to take any more messages.
After being unable to contact the agent I went to the internet to check the validity of the company and was immediately directed to complaint and so I did.
We are in need of extra income and this would have been a blessing had it been real, but apparently it was just a scam that might have ruined us had it not been for others like me reporting fraudulent ripoffs like this one.
