Ripoff, scam, recorded phone calls, unauthorized payments taken through ACH checking account

This company has been taking money from my checking account for several months. I never noticed, because it was the same amount as another bill I pay monthly. Finally I realized that I didn't recognize the company name. It is listed on my account as Web Payment: Call800-331- Platinumgp. I called my bank to dispute this information and charges and they graciously did so, but only went back 90 days. They told me to first call the company and try to resolve this matter with them. I did. When I called, they could not give me a straight answer. They told me it was mastercard or visa platinum benefits which included dental insurance and such. I have very good insurance and would never buy outside insurance anyway. When I asked them how this was authorized, they told me that they had me voice recorded.

Ok, so now they supposedly have me on tape, well when I asked them to play it, they told me first it was in the credit department, and then told me the credit department didn't receive phone calls. Secondly they told me they only play archived tapes after 8pm because this is when they pull the tapes due to the fact they are overloaded during the day.

I was told I would have to write to them to get my money back, but never gave me an address.instead they supposedly cancelled this so-called platinum benefits for me and gave me a conformation # and told me I would get a form in the mail with in 3-5 business days and I could "request" a refund via mail, but only once I had this letter. The next thing is that they only needed my name and "phone number" to pull any records on me, well if they are taking money how did they get my checking account information?

When I called my bank, they told me the payment were being taking out by an ACH, automated clearing house and that they were web initiated, so much for disputing credit card charges, because it comes directly from my checking account. I now have to close my account and reopen another to have this permanently stop happening. I located the phone # for the Better Business Bureau and called to get the information on them. They are listed unsatisfactory with responses to every complaint, but without customer satisfaction. I figure this means that no one received any type of refund from them. I filed a complaint with the BBB of West Florida. The email addresses are Email: [email protected] home page is http://www.clearwater. BBB.org should you need to file one yourself. If I do not receive a full refund I am willing to hire a lawyer to resolve this matter. It may only be about $200.00, but it isn't about the money, it's the fraudulent companies that make it harder for everyone else to do legitimate business.

One more thing, Platinum Benefits group has more that one name and phone # so beware of this and check your account for fraudulent information. Even the BBB has 2 companies listed under the 800 phone number. If you go to the website a type in the phone number you will get a list of names.
