I just purchased my first brand brand new motorcycle in 20 years. It is a 2009 Yamaha 1300 Tourer. I picked it up on 8/27 and was told that the first service would be covered by the dealer. Well, it was my mistake to take this as is and not make sure it was in writing. Log story short is that they at first refused to do anything about this until the service writer spoke with the owner. That resulted in a $40.00 dollar reduction in my Almost $200.00 bill. Since I thought that perhaps I did not hear what I thought I heard I did not continue to push the issue. Once I got home and spoke to my wife, she remembered them talking about the first service being covered by them. I thought this was a little bit early but figured that since it was covered why not have them do it, right. I cannot trust what these peaple tell me and now do not want to do business with these people anymore. It's pretty sad that someone spends over $11,000 dollars and the owner, who was in house, did not think it important enough to talk to me in person. At least now I know how important my business really is to them.
PS: I think the service department personel deserve a very good mention here. They did what appeared to be everything they could do.
