Basic complaint... Bought a 05 Aveo new. About two months after buying it a hole developed in the door handle.initially took it to World Chevy/Courtesy Chevy at airport who was corteous enough to find that GM was investigating that part for premature failure. This meant having patience while the issue was resolved.
Recently double checked with Bill Heard to see if they had the same issue/resolution. I was told it was not covered under warranty but if I could find a dealer to replace it go for it. Which is what I am doing. The frustrating thing is that Bill Heard is one mile from my house and the other dealer is 35 miles away. Any service (beyond oil changes) I have always used the dealer on past vehicles before.
My attitude is while it may appear to cost more some of the other types of shops have a tendency to "find" other things wrong. Just frustrating that a dealer will sell you a car but draws the line at warranty service another dealer has indicated is a covered issue. Courtesy chevy (while they did not get the "deal") will ultimately get my service business when it comes time due to their professionalism in dealing with my situation.in the end they end up with the more profitable end of the deal because good knows they did not make a ton of money off my commuter car.
