I purchased two 42" Insignia HD TV's (@880 each) and the board on one went out all most 1 year and 2 months later. Geek charge of $150.00 to inform us that we would be better off buying a new TV. Of course, we did not get extended warranty. Okay, store manager agreed to give us break and take $75 off new TV and stated he could absolutely not do any better. After reading some of these complaints, I didn't realize what a big deal the $75 was. Well, the new tv was on sale and I was sure I could negotiate a little better deal... No way, no how. After endless phone calls with Consumer Relations and Insignia (Consumer Relations told me I needed to go directly to them since they made it) and hours of time they wouldn't budge.
I told them that was very poor customer service and they could come and get my new TV and credit my account.
Oh, since I picked up the TV I have to bring it back. Why, I couldn't even begin to presume that bringing it back would not be my responsibility. However, since I did get the extended warranty on the new one they will have to pro-rate the amount so I can be charged for that.
I don't have the box for the TV anymore... So I will have to be creative.
I am on a mission to make sure that we need to do a little better by standing by our products. At the very least, I can tell my experience and everyone can make their own choices. I choose not to do business with Best Buy.
