The amount of money here is quite small, and this may seem highly trivial, but two issues are at play here:
1. The OUTRAGEOUS LIES that a NEWS ORGANIZATION that trumpets itself as being the single best news source ON THE PLANET;
2.inadequate credit given for non-delivery.
For the past few weeks, My Saturday/Sunday delivery of THE NEW YORK TIMES has been missed. The drivers drive right on by, delivering ONLY to 7-day-a-weekers, and missing the Weekenders only&although the TIMES spends a fortune advertising for weekend-only business.
Each time I call, I get a different lie: The paper is out for delivery. The weather is bad (when it is dry and sunny); the delivery team is having car trouble.
Today I hears the following:
Your newspaper will not be delivered today due to production difficulties
This is amazing, as ALL OF MY IMMEDIATE NEIGHBORS who get 7-Day service got their newspapers.
Each week that this occurs, we are promised delivery by 12;30, or 10:30, etc. Etc. And it NEVER, EVER HAPPENS.
To replace the paper, one must spend $2.00, the Newstand price; yet, the company only gives you $1.32 credit.
This is after failing to deliver, brazenly lying about the reasons for non-delivery, and doing it week after week after week.
The principle at stake here is: The much - venerated GREATEST NEWSPAPER IN THE WORLD is lies and steals.
