I am a disabled person who was interviewed and hired as a Pharmacy Technician for a new Giant Eagle Store and began my training in one of their pharmacies in a near-by town. I was told in the interview I would be making $7.50 per hour and working 40 hours per week. When I received my first check it was for only $6.70 for the 32 hour week of training and did not include the 5 hours of orientation. I called the HR Manager and was told that the person who interviewed me was wrong and that I would only be working 14-21 hours per week at $6.70 per hour. I attempted to speak to the manager six times and he never returned my calls. I believe this deceptive and discriminatory hiring practices and policies as I am disabled and over the age of 55. I told them I would be seeking another position because I cannot work for a company with such unethical standards.
