Beware of the shifty sales tricks when buying from Acura of Boardman. They showed me a starting price of $18,500 for a car that booked at 13K. They later brought a KBB printout that had $17500 written at the top. It was based on this knowledge that I bought the car for what I thought was a great deal. Their response the next day was "no take backs". Check www.forbes.com for ten car dealer tricks to avoid; It is in an article titled "How to Avoid Car Buyers Remorse." They use all the tricks. Dont take any deal on the spot. Go home and think about it. They WILL offer you the same deal the next day.
This Acura dealership has no desire to make you a deal with which you will be happy. They will get as much as they can from you and sleep like a baby knowing they robbed you blind. Both the salesman and the sales manager threw out the term BUYER’S REMORSE several times. I think they hear it a lot. A good dealer will give you a fair price for a good car (not mark it up $5K over the book value).
CarMax is a used car company that has a FIVE DAY OR 250 MILE - NO QUESTIONS ASKED MONEY BACK GUARANTEE. That’s a dealer who wants to make the customer happy. I’ve called Acura of Boardman a number of times to talk to the General Manager but after being on hold for an extended period of time they tell me he’s not available. He will not return my calls. I guess he must go through this often.
