Greg Hobson is the manager of Northern California Kohls LP, he is a nut job! This man gets his underling Maria Fernandez to do his dirty work. He is a racist. He recently hired a woman and when he found he could not intimidate her, he told Maria to find a way to fire her. He sends out a team from the Bay area to different stores that break all of the LP regulations, and they show up using the "N" word and cussing. We have severe losses at all stores because Kohls has a policy in place that is great for the shoplifter. We can not put our hands on anyone, can not block the door and if we happen to catch anyone, we have to let them go if it's our lunch break. If we have to call the police, we must contact Greg or his minions, and if they do not feel like dealing with us, they either do not answer the phone, or they chew us out for calling after hours. Either way, you are unable to do your job, this place is a circus. The entire LP regs are going to keep you from ever stopping anyone from shop lifting. We have all pretty much stopped caring, so shoplift away people. This company is such a loser. There is nothing positive to be found in this workplace. Kohls is bleeding money and we can not figure out what idiot is responsible, and at this point we don't care. Corp knows exactly what is going on. They know that Greg Hobson is stirring up animosity between managers. If you are a hard workers and decent, he hates you. He never backs up LP, and will destroy anyone that is getting between he and his afternoon nap. He doesn't like anyone who is white and will work to get rid of you even if there is a manager between you and him. He has fired a lot of people for idiotic reasons. Corp does NOTHING to fix the problem. Labor Laws are broken and they do nothing.
While Kohls has a bad reputation in how they treat their employees, Greg Hobson's unfair treatment of others is legendary. Kohls has no problem how many people he fires. There are quite a few law suits filed against him, however he has others do the dirty work so it can not come back to him.
Kohls regulations are only for some people, there is no consistency in how they treat their employees. His is a hostile work environment if ever there was one. Threats, plots and a mountain of manager mismanagement and abuse all the way to the top. Even in retail, people are stressed out and find it difficult to come to work each day.
WARNING, low, low pay and a bad work environment, abusive managers make this a TOXIC place to work.
