I was sold a 1400hs edgestar portable air conditioner by Blake Ussel. He told me that he sells 100's of these to RV owners in arizona to combat the monsoon heat. He told me that the air conditioner in his office didn't work most of the time and this model was used exclusively. He guaranteed me he understood the Az monsoon heat and that the unit would "freeze me out". It does not work at all for an Rv in this kind of heat. I called them and they basically ignored me and switched me over to an edgestar tech. I now know they work hand in hand. I filed a report with the austin bbb. Wasn't informed of the 70.00 fee for the mediation/arbitration services which are all in Living Direct's favor I refuse to pay out any more money-I was the one who got ripped off-not them. I spoke with David, an edgestar tech who told me these units were NOT to be sold to RV owners living in the monsoon heat. He said he would send them an email indicating so-big deal as they continue to do so. Filing a complaint with the asutin bbb was a waste of time. Living direct/compact appliance had the upper hand at all times. I asked for an even exchange to be done simultaneously. A 12000btu window air conditioner (edgestar tech recommendation) to be dropped, the portable unit to picked up.instead, Rudy (a manger of compact appliance) said they considered it to be "customer confusion" as to my location. They actually said that! They would take it back, at my shipping expense, take a 15% restocking fee, refund the balance within 1 to to 2 billing cycles. What a deal. I didn't order the 1400hs-I didn't want the heater. They canceled my original order-without notifying-redid the order for one with the heater, sent it out before I could stop it. They refuse to be responsible for the fraudulent statements issued by the salesman-Blake Ussel. I originally called in to see about ordering 2,10, 000btu window air conditioners. The salesman said the portable works better than TWO 10,000btu's would and much less in price. Not knowing anything about air conditioners-I believed him. All lies. He did nothing but lie to me. I am retired on a fixed income, have ms and have had to find other places to stay. The lies and fraud have cost me a lot of money I just don't have to spend on it.
I want to sue them and enter it as a class action lawsuit to bring others forward here in Arizona. I cannot be the only one they did this to. All I read is how many others got ripped off with no resolution. The asutin bbb said that in the 3 yr. Period they can report on, living direct has had over 600 complaints filed just in texas. Yet they maintain an A rating. HOW?
They need to be stopped in their shady, fraudulent dealings. Why do they keep getting away with it? The greed and lies are so bad, and so many. I hope this helps someone else. I also hope people from Az are willing to join in on a class action lawsuit. I believe they will. It is the only way to stop these people-the only way.
