My husband has a bank account with Woodforest Bank, Let me explain the situation.
FIRST, my husband was at work, someone stole his wallet, and took the bank card to Shell Gas Station and it was swiped for $150.00. Ok, so then the wallet was found inside Krogers Grocery Store on a shelf. When it was returned, the only thing missing was the atm/bank card.
My husband immediatley called the number on the back of the card to report it stolen, they stated that they were going to cancel out the card. (f.Y.I. That was our rent money!) Someone from the corporate office called and gave us a spill stating the person had the account number, they had to have had the pin to complete the transaction, and so forth.
We explained that, it was impossible for them to have the pin, that the account number was not placed in the wallet, and that THE CARD HAD BEEN STOLEN! They call back the next day, informing us that there was going to be an investigation and we would recieve the money back between July 5- July 6. Guess what? Today is July 6, with no money!
Second: On Friday July 2, the guy that stole my husbands card was caught and arrested! Thank God! The area where the card was stolen from is a shopping center where my husband works and the guy attempted to return to that same area and use the card at a pawn shop! The owner recognized the name and asked for an I.D. The guy went on about how it was his card and he didnt need to see the I.D. So the owner there called the police and the guy tried to exscape but the owner pressed the lock button on him until they arrived.
Third: My Husband went to the bank yesterday to speak with the branch manager there and she stated that "Sir, we found out on Friday, July 2 that the guy that had stolen your card went inside the Shell Gas Station and swiped the card, and the attendent overrided the need for the pin." We were shocked!"Also the camera's there inside the store showed the clerk taking what seemed to be a picture of your card!" Ohh wait it gets even better, "... He was ringing up different customers using your card number, and by the way he was with a Temp agency, and we think he used someone elses name and social to get the job so they are unsure if he will be prosecuted as well."
My husband was furious as you could imagine, so they stated that the money should be there today (July 6) at the latest. Again, today, no money! He asked to speak with the branch manager, she stated "Sir, I told you yesterday, that we will call you, there is no need for you to come up here!" He said that she was yelling at him! He said that they got in such a heated debate that the police came up to ask what was going on!
Right now at this moment, he just called to tell me that the account was never closed and that the card now has $700.00 worth of charges, JUST GREAT! Our rent was 4 days late, my husband card was overdrafted so his check that he gets tomorrow will be taken which was our Car Notes, and Cell Phone bill money! Why are they getting away with this?
