We purchased an AKAI TV in late 2005 for over $700 from Sam's Club. About 10 months after purchase the sound stopped working. We mailed the TV to the AKAI service center and were mailed a new replacement TV instead. The TV worked fine for 3 years, until one day no longer turned on. I searched for AKAI on google and found out that they no longer have an actual website. The site they have now only lists their contact information. I have written e-mails to the provided addresses... The phone number is bogus, you can never reach a live person and no one ever calls you back. It's been a long time and still no reply.
