Rick Case in Duluth, Ga. I test drove a used car and decided to purchase it. I was told that it hadn't gone thru a safety check and because it was Sunday that I couldn't drive away with the car until Monday. I was told that I could have a loaner car for the day. I didn't have full coverage car insurance (only comprehensive) so they couldn't loan me a car to drive. Being only one-day wait, I was ok with that. I attempted to pick up the car on Monday but Jerome Hogue told me that I couldn't have the car yet because the person that traded the car in financing had not been approved by the bank for his purchase. He claimed he told me that on Sunday but he didn't. He tries to make it appear to be my fault for not having full coverage insurance because I could have a loaner car to drive. Why do they sell used cars before they can release them? I paid in full by check and they have already cashed the check. Why didn’t they wait on depositing the check? What legal grounds do they have to hold the car after I have paid in full for it? There is nothing in writing that I signed giving them the right to hold it! They should have been open and honest with me and asked for a small deposit to hold it for me if it comes 100% available to be sold. It is now Thursday May 6 still no car!
