Before transporting a small Honda gas engine (GCV160) in my minivan, I drained a gallon of gas and oil to prevent spillage, leaks and fire hazard inside passenger compartment. I needed to turn engine in for warranty work but had a 5 plus hour drive to dealer. When I delivered engine to authorized dealer, Honda Inc. Refused warranty work, based on the reason that they could not do gas/oil analysis to support warranty claim. Therefore warranty was voided. Even with original purchase receipt, original box, books and unit less than 6 months old of 2 year warranty, Honda voided all, because I did something to insure the safety of myself and passengers.
Question, was my choice to drain gas/oil from engine wrong or right for transportation safty?
Can warranty be voided by Honda because of this issues.
I have asked for a writen rejection from Honda district rep. And will post it here when I get letter.
Thanks Dave
