Ivy sold me a "hybrid" that was really just an overpriced dog of mixed breeding. She told me that the one-year old dog was house-trained with no bad habits. The truth was the dog appeared to never have received training of any kind. It damaged furniture due to chewing, knocked a 5 year old boy down at the beach while on a leash, and continually messed in the house.
When I contacted Ivy after having the dog 3 days, I said I didn't want any money back but that the dog would be better off back with her. She wouldn't even return my calls. Finally sent me a rude email saying the dog was my problem and I should "take it upon myself to train the dog or if I wasn't capable of that bring her to a pound." I've never heard of a legitimate breeder handling a situation like that.
When I told her that it would probably be a problem placing the dog with a new owner because of the dog's bad habits, she said that was my problem not hers. I asked her if that included the pound putting the dog to sleep if it couldn't be successfully placed. Ivy replied she was a businesswoman and keeping her business afloat was more important than one dog. The sad thing is that that dog would have been a good pet if Ivy had trained it properly starting when it was a puppy. Ivy was rude, but worst of all had no compassion for a poor dog she had raised from a puppy.
