I placed on eBay a bag I bought from Hermes - a kelly bag a couple of years ago. Few days later I was shocked to learn that my listing was pulled off eBay. Later I learnt that my listing was "discussed" on the Purse Forum and the authenticators claimed that my bag was a fake. I can only imagine that that a number of them filed a report against me, and for that my listing was removed.
Few months later, I contacted a reseller who deals with bags to sell the bag on my behalf - she charged a lot, but I needed to sell the bag, so I sent the bag to her, and soon after it was advertised and it then sold, for a good price too. After her charges, I didn't get as much I would have got had I managed to sell the bag myself had my listing not been removed.
When my bag was listed by this reseller, my bag did appear again on the Purse Forum to be authenticated. This time, because this reseller is member of TPF, my bag got a resounding "authentic". I was tempted to register and asking the TPF members to explain thenselves, but by that stage, my eBay listing was long removed, and the ladies there would deny all knowledge anyway,
It was quite clear to me that TPF use the authentication section not just to auhenticate bags, but aslo as a means of getting other bags on eBay removed if they are not sold by one of their members. They also use this to promote their own listing. To their credit, they do get the fake bags removed regularly off eBay.
I just feel sorry for others like me who tried to sell directly but get accused of selling a fake bag. Its very hurtful when this happens.
MISTIKAT, FLOSSYFIGARO, COBALTBLU and GRACEKELLY - I hope you are reading this because my rippoff report is directed towards you. You can hide behind silly names - but one day I hope someone will take legal actions against you for the lies you tell on the Purse Forum.
