I was solicited, by phone, to have Afilliated Finacial Services negotiate, on my behalf to save me $2500 and lower my interest due one credit cards. I was told this would cost me $995.
Bank Of America, and Visa were the cards they would negotiate with. All of this was done on the phone. I never signed anything, though the call was recorded. ABanf of Amerisc showed no interest.
They sent a packet of material to be signed and returned. I never returned anything. I call them to see what was going on when $995 showed up on my Sears (visa) bill. I was told by AFS that I had given them permission on the recorded call. I asked if this call was being recorded... They said no. I asked why not because I was verbally asking them not and to removed the $995 for my visa bill. They coulded do that.
I filed a protest with Sears and after investigation by the it is being reinstated on my bill. AFS Has yet to lower my interest rate with S as prromised bu Sears. I am consulting a consumer advocte now.
