The vendor quoted me $510 for a job that is usually done for $150. I told him that I wasn't interested, he left, just to show up in my door 5 min later saying that he will do it for $169, a competing offer I had from an other garage door company, he also mentioned that he might charge me $25 for a center bearing, if it needed to be changed. Our agreement was that I will be consulted before he changes the center bearing, to my surprise, he went ahead and changed it, even though it didn't need to be changed just to pocket the extra $25, when I questioned him, I was told that's what engineers recommend. The part that was replaced was in perfect condition and has worked just fine for the last 12years, I don't understand why the vendor chose to take advantage of me even though I was a repeat customer (changed my garage door operator through him a year ago).
