TravelGuru claims to be India's largest network, and I know how they became so large; they cheat their clients and take their hard earned money.
I took a holiday package to Kerala and was told that on one of the days I will take a house boat from Kumarakom and go to Alleppy in the houseboat and spend the whole night in the boat.
They gave me 3 options and I chose the costliest (and the best according to their sales representative) boat.
When we reached Kumarakom (a day before), I was informed that we will have to travel to Alleppy by road for two hours and we will board the houseboat in Alleppy itself.
I double check the itinerary that was sent to me, I also checked with our driver and he told me it's unusual. I called TravelGuru and was put on hold for 20 minutes before I was told they will 'check and call back'. Of course they never bothered to call.
I didn't want to miss the houseboat experience so I still traveled to Alleppy and boarded, I tried calling TravelGuru again and was informed that their package only has Alleppy as boarding point, this was clearly false and I knew they were lying.
After I spent the whole day arguing with them (not to mention my holiday was spoilt), they say it was a spelling mistake:
They claim to have spelt Kumarakom as Alleppy, one needs to be seriously drunk to make that 'spelling mistake'.
TravelGuru representatives didn't bother to apologize for making the mistake (not even for the spelling mistake) and didn't express their concern about ruining my holiday.
I want warn everyone about these evil-doers, they will go back on their 'written' words, speak white lies and take your money.
