Forcing customers to pay for canceling their non-performing service

This company has the worst phone service I have ever seen. My phone would sputter (cut in and out) while talking to people. People would complain to me that my voice was cutting out all the time. Then I tried faxing some important medical documents and it kept losing the connection, after five (5) tries it reported that the seven (7) pages went through successfully. But after calling a few days later, I found out they never received the faxes. I faxed the same pages to the exact same number from the public library and it went through the first time. Then last night while surfing the web my vontage (small letters because it is NOT a proper company!) modem kept reporting that it could not connect to the server because of no connection. After complaining about the service twice I was told that a had to pay $124.00 to cancel my service due to the contract I agreed too. I explained that they didn't keep their end of the contract (Clear sound and uninterrupted service) and that it wasn't right to make me pay for their failure to uphold their end of the contract. I had just been charged (on my debit card) a little over $33.00 for another month of service and they wanted another $124.00, I Think Not! That is another issue, they try to force you to use a credit card so they can take your money without stopping them. I found a fix for that little problem, cancel you card and have a new one issued before you cancel their service so they have to send you a bill instead of letting them steal your hard earned money. I explained that they could try to charge my debit card, but I could guarantee that it would not go through now. As is stands, I talked them down to $62.00 instead of $124.00 and then had them credit my money already paid for that non-service that I have already received. This put the bill to $33.74 and I just received an email that there was a problem trying to bill my debit card, duh! Here is what they sent
