On a first day as solo company driver I was forced to take a load and drive in adverse weather condition (winter storm freezing rain) on Appalachian Road. When I explain my safety concerns because I never drove on severe winter condition road, I asked manager for another load with better weather, the answer was No! The only winter training Swift Corp Gave me it was watching 10 min movie WINTER DRIVING on kiosk TV. I do not think this kinda training make good winter driving new drivers, This week in my terminal was over 8 serious accidents (normal weather condition they have a 1 or 0 crashes) As a professional driver I have a moral responsibility to make a legal and safe driving decision, recognizing the risk and hazardous conditions, to protect motoring public and myself. (Rule#1 from National Safety Council& Professional Truck Driving Training.) Swift Corp Management Ignored that fact and forced me to danger!!!
