Bought the dark shadows dvd set on feb 3 for 124.95 plus shipping which brought the total i was charged to 149.94. I got an email conformation on the 5th from the mistyrichmond email address telling me within 8 to 10 business days i will have it. On the 17th, i still had not received the dvd's & i emailed the back asking about it.
i tried to go back to the site to see if there was another way to contact them or track my order but i couldnt get on the site. I have been unable to get it to load at all since the day i ordered. I got a reply to my email later the same day, the 17th, from a kimberly. Weis2 in which she apologized for the delay & told me my package was delayed because their originating country was having an extended major holiday.
i had no idea i was ordering from china, which is where my package came from. I just got my dvd set today & when i opened it, i was absolutely crushed. They are bootleg copies, the very first disc i pulled out has scratches on it & i tried to play it & as i suspected, it doesnt play at all. Then i couldnt get the thing to come back out of my dvd player! There is nothing wrong with my player & there was a movie being watched on it earlier today with no problems.
there are 3 plastic boxes with stacks of dvd's in them & each one had a plastic tab broke off it in that holds the dvd's from moving inside the larger plastic cases. There are even bubbles on the paper lables on each disc & they are hand numbered in ink.
i believe they block your ip address once you order from them so you cant come back to them. This is supported by the fact that i couldnt go back to the site & i decided to try going to the site on my other computer & it loaded fast & without problems. Under their privacy policy it says they collect your ip addresses for 'convenience' to the customer.
under their terms & conditions, it states "some of the dvds sold by tv dvd blowout have been individually compiled from original film stock & public domain wholesaler sources. These sources have an inconsistent level of preservation associated with them.in accordance the playback experienced may vary from movie to movie on any dvd collection purchased. Every effort has been given to maintain true dvd quality, but the customer understands & accepts that some level of imperfection is present in each film & that level of imperfection can vary significantly between films. This means the customer accepts that their may be pauses or skips present in the playback of any given film. We have made every effort to keep errors to a minimum, but they may still exist. The customer accepts this as part of their set, & as part of woning films directly converted from original film stock"
now, that doesnt say that they are bootleg copies but then again it does. Under their faq section, their return policy states this: "our returns policy is simple. You can return your purchase within 30 days of receipt for any reason whatsoever for a full refund of the value of the product, shipping fee's are not refundable."
they state that their dvd's are region free & will play on over 99% of dvd players including major gaming systems (sony playstation & microsoft xbox). If you experience problems with the dvd's they will be happy to offer you a full refund.
if your disc is defective, it says to email them with your order number & defective disc number & they will send a free replacement. They guarantee all their dvd's to be of the highest quality & your satisfaction is their priority. "rest assured that when doing business with us you will always receive quick, professional & courteous service". 100% customer satisfaction is guaranteed!
refunds section states if you are not 100% satisfied with your order, contact them within 15 days of receiving it for a full refund then it says shipping charges will not be refunded.
exchanges section states if you are delivered the wrong item you can exchange it for the correct one & you are to email them within 5 days of having received the package & send the product back in its original state.
defects section states: you are to examine their merchandise for damages & defects upon receiving it. All defects must be reported within 5 days in order to receive your exchange for an exact replacement of that item.
there is a notes section at the bottom also that says: "1- all exchange/refund merchandise must be shipped back to us in working condition. Damaged goods do not require return shipping. 2- all dates/timelines above are based on the day the customer receives their dvd's. This is based on our shipping company tracking system. 3- damaged goods will under no circumstances be accepted."
if you receive it damaged, then apparently they wont accept it?
my dark shadows set says the following - "excellent video & audio quality, box set contains all 132 dvd's with custom artwork, the dvd's are region free so they will play on any dvd player world wide & dvd rom, x box or ps2 worldwide" they are brand new in stock & ready to ship.
now, upon going back & reading this, i might have been a bit more cautious & investigated them first but it seems as though you are buying factory direct dvd's. I wrote them immediately after getting my package today telling them that i was contacting the police to file an internet scam report, my bank to dispute the charges & will take any other legal action that i can. I suggested that they correct this immoral situation immediately & in my favor. I also stated i was not going to spend any more of my money to ship this garbage back to them. According to thier rules & policies, non working items are NOT to be shipped back anyway.
both those email's i got were from gmail so if you cannot get back to the site like me & need to contact them, i hope they help you. Apparently they operate under at least 3 site names advertising up to 80% off. Beware of any you see that state that. If you are locked out & unable to get back to the site after ordering, go to another computer such as library or laptop, i also used a different browser than i ordered on just to be sure to try to go back to the site. I am going to print all the stuff from their pages so i am sure to have it for the bank when i go to file the report with them.
