I agree with you. I find her resume misleading. Such verbiage as "interdisciplinary, " "holistic, "parenting education, " and the like is the opposite of my experience with her.
I also agree that Dr. Eckstein should not do any forensics whatsoever and provides dangerous insights to the court.
She has little to no insight into Parental Alienation Syndrome, in particular Level III, and takes things at face value with little or no contact with parents and professionals, both current and historic, in these cases.
She has little to no insight into domestic violence and its resultant Post-Traumatic Stress and pathological bonding with the violent parent. She often has recommended to the court that the child go to live with the abuser, in spite of medical and police records. This alone indicates lack of insight into the personality disorders of the abusers, who, often as much as 70% of the time, use the court system to further their abuse, with no regard to the child they are hurting in the process. Their typically "normal and cooperative" demeanors go apparently undetected by Dr. Eckstein, while the tears of the protective parents and the overwhelming stress of the child that witnesses the abuse are often taken at face value as "proof" that the abuser is the more fit parent. This is further enhanced by the fact that the child more often than not acts out at the alienated parent's home, which Dr. Eckstein apparently also takes at face value to indicate the alienated parent is somehow physically and psychologically abusing the child.
This to me is not indicative of a trained professional. Some results of her court testimony have been virtually dangerous, both physically and mentally, for the minor child.
It is important to note that I, too, agree that she can only give recommendations to the court that are based on first-hand knowledge. Particularly in light of the fact that she works on high conflict cases, first-hand kinowledge comes into play even more so because of the ease with which abusers and their attorneys are able to manipulate the system.
This is only my opinion but I feel a responsibility to say that I would not put my worst enemy's child in Dr. Eckstein's hands.
She has destroyed lives.
In addition, the guardian ad litem she works with, Diane Van Ness, files falsified and perjured reports if not paid in full by the first of every month. My reports were perjured in several cases, and if I only had the luxury of time and finances, I would have challenged both Dr. Eckstein and her guardian ad litem. I agree that they have both been dangerous to innocent parents and children in my opinion.
