After having the car 4 days we finally came to get and were told the problem was fixed because he adjusted the idling. We get it back only to find it was NOT fixed but indeed worse off than before. It even died one time on the way home. We had paid $250 at this point, for nothing fixed, no tests, and no diagnosis. We then took it back in and asked for a COMPRESSION test ran. After having it for 4 days we were informed we needed a new motor.in order for the insurance company to pay for it, it'd have to be taken completely apart and we'd have to pay for it. After 7 days of having the car with no results we went to check on it. The next day called and said forget it we were pulling it out because we weren't paying the quoted $1000 to take the engine apart. At this point he charged us $350 ADDITIONAL dollars for the "testing" and "labor" when we had already paid $250 for nothing. This is when we took the car to mercedes benz of Indianapolis. They ran the same tests and did same work in only TWO days and for only $107. They reported there was in fact NOTHING wrong with the motor and merely adjusted the idling, which had been done incorrectly the first time. All this for 1/6 of the cost as the first place AND the car was fixed properly. We have been calling and explaining several times we feel Quality Imports charged a ridiculous amount for doing nothing to the car. The Indianapolis dealer also said what they charged us was absurd. We proposed to let them have the $250 and just want our $350 back. Quality Imports will claim they SHOULD get paid since they spent "time" and "labor" working on the car, but the fact is that it was UNNECESSARY. There was nothing wrong with the motor and it was their MISTAKE, so they wasted both their time and ours taking it apart so they could charge us more money. They have yet to comply or even try to make things right. Don't take your vehicle here, be smart and drive the extra 45 mins to the REAL Mercedes Repair Shop.
