Syosset Lock Shop
I was hired to handle High Security locks, do all the call backs for previous Field Techs, and New Installations

When I was first interviewed by Steven Palumbo, he claimed not to be the owner of Syosset Lock Shop but in charge for the owner who was sick. He told me he only had 2 years experience as a locksmith but was great sales. He had me do a survey for a company to find out what was wrong with some door closers. During the first week, he went from being in charge to being the owner, and depending who he spoke to on the phone or at the counter that would change from time to time.

In order to establish a skill level for my salary I had agreed to work for Syosset Lock Shop for 4 weeks at a reduced salary. Once I left my present job to work for Steve, I was told that he was going to hold back one weeks salary. He never mentions this during our interview.in the first couple days, of working with Steven Palumbo, I found he was verbally abusive to me, and sort of reminded my of a school yard bully. While he was on phone call with me present in the room, I noticed he was playing several different people on the phone. He was ripping off most of his customers and they were not aware of it. He gauged Services and Labor prices and over charged for cheap locks that he marked up way beyond the manufactures recommended price.
Our work system was I would go into the field and do all the installations and surveys, he was going to set all my materials up in a box which would include everything. At half of the jobs, I found out her lack of experience left out important parts needed to complete the jobs. I had to drive back to the shop several times because of his inexperience,
He cheat me out of gas money, commissions and salary, his work week was Monday to Friday from 8 am to 5 pm but he only paid for a 40 week, using only 15 to 30 min lunches and no coffee breaks.
He lies to customers about simple little things like, one man came in to order a special lock, Steve agreed to order the lock for the man, It will be in next week, the man returned for the lock and Steve in the back room told me to get rid of him, he didnt have time to order the lock for him.

At this point I realized that I made a big mistake to go to work for Syosset Lock Shop. He is inexperienced locksmith and unlicensed by New York Citys Dept of Consumers Affairs and does not belong to ALOA, because he is not a licensed locksmith. Once again, I question his access of all the master keys from the owners previous business.

On one particular job he was in such a rush, he sent me to one of his accounts and in the rush of getting this job done I had lost the Master key to the building (the building master), I called him as soon as I found out. He told me not to tell anyone, and to return directly to the shop. Again at the shop he quizzed me where I could have lost the key, it was very important to him. I felt really bad. It was my fault, he insisted on rushing me to 5 different jobs which I would never finish in one day plus the 3 jobs earlier. Later that night when I finished the day, he told me that the key was found by one of the men at the location where I was working at. I found out that was a lie.
As a rule, if you are going to do any business with such a cheater, at least, get a 2nd price quote from somewhere else. You may find out that you can save a lot of money.
