Comfort Rooms of Florida... Stephen Ferrando... CON MAN RIP OFF ARTIST!!!
I wish I had done research on this guy and his company BEFORE my husband agreed to do work for him, it would have saved us alot of heartache and pain.
My husband, being a professional, custom tile installer for the past 30 yrs I might add, answered an ad Mr. STEPHEN FERRANDO had posted on Craigs list... (theres another scam alert I would like to write for that whole website, but thats another story) Anyway... As anybody in the construction industry knows, for the past couple of years, it has been slim pickin's as far as finding work goes. Especially here in central florida. My husband had been out of work for over 8 weeks... We were getting desperate. Mr. STEPHEN FERRANDO posted an ad, wanting someone to install tile in a home he is having built in Sanford, at 612 Lugan Ct. (thats right, I gave the address, which is a matter of public record).. My husband went over, measured the job, and gave Mr. STEPHEN FERRANDO an estimate... 8,000... Which was below what my husband would have done it for, but, we really needed the money, so he was sacrificing, to hopefully win the bid and get the job. Weeks went by, and no word from Mr. Stephen ferrando... So we assumed that someone else won the bid. Then out of the blue, Mr. STEPHEN FERRANDO calls my husband and tells him he wants him to do the job, but of course, being the shyster that he is, and seeing an opportunity to take advantage of someone because he CAN, wants my husband to do the job for 5,000. Now this was a 2,500 sq. Ft. Job, custom patterns, and glass tiles, diagonal designs... Clearly worth another 1500 bucks of labor, throughout the house. As I said before... We were desperate, and Mr. STEPHEN FERRANDO knew this. My husband made the mistake of telling him this... And he honed in on it like a vulture on fresh kill. And he used it to his advantage.
The next thing that happened is that the tile that Mr. STEPHEN FERRANDO purchased for the job, from Conquest Services, was warped. It was high in the middle and low on the corners. My husband called this to the attention of MR. STEPHEN FERRANDO and demonstrated by flipping a tile over, and laying it upon another tile, and spinning it around. Mr. FERRANDO told my husband to lay some of the tiles out so he could see how they looked on the floor, which my husband did. Mr. FERRANDO said it looked fine when it was on the floor, and told my husband to go ahead and install it. THIS is where we should have drawn up a contract and made Mr. Shyster. Errr I mean Mr. FERRANDO sign it... A huge mistake and a lesson learned on our part. So, of course my husband does what the customer requested... And what do you think happened? Thats right... After its down and grouted, he says it looks bad and doesn't want it. So... They have a representative from Conquest Services come out and meet with my husband and Mr. FERRANDO so my husband can prove to them it was the tile, and not any fault of his own. All agreed that is was the tile. So, the company, Conquest Services, agrees to replace the tile with new tile... But they do NOT agree to pay for the tear out, and labor for replacing the tile. So, my husband tells MR. FERRANDO, that he will tear it out and replace it with the new tile. But the tear out will be 1,000. Mr. SHYSTER didn't want to pay that much, so he "kicked my husband in the shins" until he went down to 500. UGGGGGGGGGGHHHH!!! This guy is a JERK!!! Anyway, it was torn out, and replaced, and looked beautiful... And he screwed us out of the entire amount for replacing it and tearing it out... Roughly 3,000.
You know I could go on and on and on... This guy, STEPHEN FERRANDO, and his company, COMFORT ROOMS OF FLORIDA, has been the subject of many a complaint, from Consumers, and sub-contractors alike. I finally did research on him when all this was going on, and the complaints are all over the internet. Just google Comfort Rooms of Florida and you will see. He has 11 complaints against him with BBB, which he is NOT a member of. Even when you search for the company in the online yellow pages, he has bad customer reviews on there.
Do not be fooled by this guy... He is no dummy, and he covers his butt by having you sign notorized waivers, so that he can anally rape you in a legal fashion.
And I do include his "wifes" name in this because she is standing by, watching him do this to countless people, and letting it happen, when she should be telling them to run for their lives. I kind of felt sorry for her at first because my husband and son would come home from working over there at the end of the day, and tell me how he would curse at her, and tell her to shut up, and she would just let him speak to her that way... But, he does it because he can. Because she allows him to... So, I have no sympathy for anyone that allows that. I thought maybe she was scared of him... But I have come to the conclusion that it's because he is her meal ticket. Women will put up with alot of crap just to keep money and possessions. How sad. And that alone should speak volumes about this guy... in the 25 yrs I have been married to my husband, he has never told me to shut up. We dont have have money, or possessions, but we have a great friendship, and mutual respect for each other.
I am sure this will be fodder for MR. STEPHEN FERRANDO to counter attack... Well, let the games begin you smug b*tard!
